The path to the monastery of Agia Triada is an easy to moderately difficult route. The start is from the Byzantine church of Panagia, a church of great historical and archaeological value as it is built on the ruins of an ancient Greek temple of Apollo. The beautiful and constantly uphill cobbled road that you follow winds between the towering rocks. Visiting the monastery is a unique experience!
Following the route to the rock of “Psaropetra” and “Ammopetra”, where a stop for panoramic photos is mandatory, you meet the downhill path that leads you to the nunnery of Roussano. A little further down the route continues through lush vegetation of a gorge to the so-called “Fylakes” of Meteora (a cave in the rock of Agios Pneuma).
The end of the route leads you to the picturesque village of Kastraki and its cobbled alleys!

The path of the Holy Spirit is an easy to moderately difficult route. It starts from the square of Kastraki village (2km away from the town of Kalambaka) and ends at the rock of Agios Pneuma, which stands imposing over the village. The time required to reach the top is about an hour, unless the magic of the view “forces” you to make constant stops for photos!
2/3 of the total route is an uphill path, sometimes dirt and sometimes rocky. Leaving behind two beautiful clearings we reach the last part of the route. The trail now acquires a steep slope and you walk between irregular rocks. In a few minutes you face a small plateau where the Skete of the Holy Spirit is carved into the rock. Following an iron staircase you are led even higher up a flat rock, where a small bell tower with a cross awaits you. The view is breathtaking!
Descending from the rock you follow the path that leads you to the cave of the so-called “Prisons” of Meteora (cave in the rock of Agios Pneuma) and from there to the cave of Agios Georgios of Mandilas.
The end of the route leads you to the picturesque village of Kastraki and its cobbled streets!
